Huntsville Wins 2019 Twinkletoes Cup

For the first time in the three year history of the Twinkletoes  Cup, Huntsville is bringing home the hardware.  The Twinkletoes Cup, named after New York Yankee All Star and Huntsville native George Selkirk,  is an annual end of year competition pitting an all star team of house leaguers from Huntsville against Gravenhurst.  This year  it was the  rookie U9s that squared off, and game 1 on Wednesday ended in a 4-4 tie.  In the exciting return match on Thursday in Huntsville, the game ended 13-12 in favor of the locals and was won in dramatic  fashion, on a walk off.  Most important for everyone was the grace and dignity shown by all participants, as is evidenced by the joint photo of both teams in front of the trophy.  Cant wait for 2020.

2019 House League Finals Night

We are looking forward to finishing our house league season in Huntsville with Finals Night on August 31.  5U, 7U and 11U age groups will participate in Skills Competitions while 9U and 13/15U will crown division champions.  Congratulations to the Coldwell Banker Twins for winning the 11U Finals against their arch rival Festing Toyota Tigers.  The score in the final was 14-7 for skip Andrew Hall and his Twins.

Why is 11U starting later than 13U on these two dates?

11U starts later because both 11U and 9U are large divisions requiring extra space for evaluations.  Starting Sunday, June 1, two teams from both 9U and 11U will have Sunday night games, with many players opting out of that practice to focus on their game. This reduces traffic on their designated diamond.  Overflow spaces are also used Sunday nights once the season begins.
