For the first time in the 10 year history of the Muskoka Hornets, graduates of our baseball program will go on to play baseball at a post-secondary level.

Last Friday April 27, Tyler Gysbers and Brayden MacEwen (pictured above) of the Muskoka Hornets U18 team both agreed to play baseball for Laurentian University starting in the fall of 2018.

"Brayden and Tyler work hard every day to get better at baseball.  They deserve this accomplishment, which reflects very positively on the Muskoka Hornets program.  I am proud to have been involved in their development,"  commented Ryan Davis, head of player development for the Muskoka Hornets and head coach of the U18 team.

Tyler, Brayden and the rest of the U18 team will see game action for the first time this weekend at the Mississauga North Baseball tournament.  The first home date for the U18s, a team made up of the best 17 and 18 year old baseball players in Muskoka, will be a doubleheader on Sunday May 20 at McCulley Robertson diamonds with first pitch at 2 pm.  Please come out and support this team as they compete in the Baseball Ontario Elite division.  Admission is free.
